One of the main reasons that users choose 7th version of AIDE as a base for their plugin is the new interface. The main reason is the new notification area that replaces the toolbar of previous versions. It allows to see the status of the different modules in one central place. The notification area, on the right side of the AIDE icon, has a new mechanism to highlight your AIDE plugin status.
You can use either of these two mechanisms to see your AIDE plugin status:
